The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is now accepting comments on the 2019-2024 Draft Proposed Offshore Leasing Program.

How to WRITE comments:

 

BOEM has stated that they want comments to include the following:
 

  • Comments that are fact based, vs opinion
     

  • If you cite statistics for anything, including financial statistics, include links to data or research (These can include weblinks)
     

  • Provide specifics regarding impacts to the ocean and coasts, the plants and animals, to people, and how people use the ocean
     

  • Where and when the ocean is utilized-this could be for recreation, your business, home, meaningful experiences and memories that you share with your children and grandchildren.  Illustrate how your way of life would be impacted by an oil spill.

  3. Enter your comments into the box provided, or create a pdf document and upload it.  
     

  4. Fill in your contact information
     

  5. Unclick “I am submitting on behalf of a third party
     

  6. Click Continue
     

  7. You will be guided to complete the process
